When James Comey made the move last year to not charge Hillary Clinton with a crime despite coming out on television and say that she had committed a crime, everyone with any sense about them had this look on their face of surprise like nothing any of them had ever seen.
As we began to learn more and more about James Comey the more we learned that he is more like the woman he tried to save than we ever imagined.
The FBI “failed to preserve” text messages between employees who made private comments critical of Donald Trump, The Daily Caller reports.
This information was provided in a letter to Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC), by the Justice Department.
“The Department wants to bring to your attention that the FBI’s technical system for retaining text messages sent and received on FBI mobile devices failed to preserve text messages for Mr. Strzok and Ms. Page,” wrote Stephen Boyd, the assistant attorney general for legislative affairs at the Justice Department.
“So of course I’m going to want to know what secret society you’re talking about because you’re supposed to be investigating objectively the person who just won the Electoral College; so yeah I’m going to want to know,” said Rep. Trey Gowdy.
The shocking revelation comes just days after the FBI informed Congressional leaders the bureau is unable to account for at least five months of messages between Strzok and Page. Read more.
Messages from Dec. 14, 2016, to May 17, 2017, could not be preserved, Boyd said, citing “misconfiguration issues related to rollouts, provisioning and software upgrades that conflicted with the FBI’s collection capabilities.” Read more.
